President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin arrived at KAMAZ (a portfolio company of Rostech State Corporation) on a working visit.
Within the framework of a visit to Naberezhnye Chelny the head of state is expected to take part in the rally dedicated to the 40-th anniversary of the day that the first KAMAZ truck was built. The event where approximately 3 thousand KAMAZ employees are invited is taking place now at the Truck Assembly Plant of KAMAZ PTC. A concert program was staged by the employees of all the plants that are part of KAMAZ giant truck maker. A historical display brought back a complete picture of the truck plant construction and the output of the first truck.
The present day track record of the Company is displayed in the exposition of vehicles which the President of Russia toured accompanied by Sergey Kogogin, General Director of KAMAZ. Next to the hero of the celebration, i.e. KAMAZ truck No. 1, year of manufacture 1976, its proper place is taken by the flagship truck of the Company’s new model line, i.e. КАМАZ-5490 long haul tractor truck and other state-of-the-art models of commercial vehicles.
President of Russia Vladimir Putin spoke to the plant personnel and pledged to provide support to KAMAZ going forward: «I wish to say that we have always been supporting your enterprise and, despite any economic problems, you are aware of, we shall continue giving our support to such an important enterprise as KAMAZ, in the future». The President underlined that KAMAZ has been active in the international motor vehicle market. KAMAZ is developing rather than standing still and not only in terms of quantity but also in terms of the quality of the products made, – said Putin. - КАМАZ is acting very ambitiously, aggressively in the good sense of the word». Addressing the employees of the Company, Valdimir Putin indicated that the government «would be doing its level best to make sure there are jobs available, while the country is in a position to transport necessary foodstuffs, goods, cargoes on such wonderful trucks which you are making».
At the celebration rally, Sergey Chemezov, head of Rostech State Corporation, was present who congratulated KAMAZ employees on such a remarkable date. He handed over to Sergey Kogogin an issue of the Izvestia newspaper published on the day that the first KAMAZ truck rolled off the assembly line The celebration program culminated in the performance put up by Oleg Gazmanov, People’s Artist of Russia, popular music singer and composer.
